Tomato Cheese Soup

Ingredients
- 1 large onion, finely chopped Onions, raw
- 1/4 cup butter Butter, without salt
- 1 can tomato puree (29 oz) Tomatoes, red, ripe, raw, year round average
- 2 1/2 cups water Water, municipal
- 1 pkg (10 OZ) extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 tsp seasoned salt Salt, table
- 1 cup sour cream Cream, sour, cultured
- 1 tsp sugar Sugars, granulated
Method
Step 1
In a large pan saute the onion in butter until soft stir in tomato puree, water,cheese sugar and salt. Heat, stirring constantly,until cheese is melted BUT DO NOT LET IT BOIL.
Step 2
Remove from heat, let cool10 mins. Stir 1 cup warm soup into sour cream in a small bowl. Gradually stir back into remaining soup. Serve warm
