Tex-Mex Salisbury Steak

  • 1 lb ground round Spices, cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 lb hot or mild ground pork sausage meat PIERRE, Pork Sausage Link - All Meat, cooked, product code 3755, contains USDA commodity meat
  • 1 small onion, chopped Onions, raw
  • 1 large egg Egg, whole, raw, fresh
  • 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs Bread crumbs, dry, grated, plain
  • 1/4 cup mild salsa Sauce, ready-to-serve, salsa
  • 2 Tbs taco seasoning mix Taco seasoning mix
  • 2 Tbs fresh cilantro, chopped and divided Cilantro (Chinese parsley), raw
  • 1 2.64 oz package country style gravy mix Gravy, CUSTOM FOODS, SUPERB Country Gravy Mix, dry
  • 1 14 oz can beef broth Soup, beef broth or bouillon canned, ready-to-serve
  • 1 10 oz can diced tomatoes with green chillies, undrained


Step 1

Combine first 7 ingredients and 1 tablespoon cilantro. Shape mixture into 6 -1/3 "patties.

Step 2

Heat a lightly greased large non stick skillet over medium -high heat Add patties : reduce heat to low and cool 8-10 mins per side or until center is no longer pink.. Remove from skillet. Wipe pan clean.

Step 3

Whisk together gravy mix , broth, tomatoes and remaining cilantro. Cook over medium heat 1 minor until thickened. Return patties to skillet, and cook until thoroughly heated
