Grilled Portabella Mushrooms


Great for a steak dinner or barbecue  This recipe serves


  • 6-8 medium Portabella mushrooms
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar Vinegar, balsamic
  • 3 tbsp chopped fresh coriander Spices, coriander seed
  • 1 tbsp coarsely ground black pepper Spices, pepper, black
  • 2 tsp finely chopped garlic Garlic, raw
  • 1 tsp salt Salt, table
  • 1 cup roasted garlic flavoured olive oil


Step 1

Clean mushrooms with soft brush or damp cloth. Remove stems. Prepare marinade by mixing vinegar, coriander, salt and pepper together and slowly whisking in oil until mixture is thick. Brush mushrooms all over with marinade, saving rest for basting. Arrange in shallow dish gill side up. Cover loosely and marinate in fridge 4-6 hours. Place in grill basket or on the grill over medium high heat and cook 8-10 minutes per side. Baste frequently with the reserve marinade. Slice mushrooms BUT do not separate slices. Arrange on platter or serving plates
