Chocolate – Cherry Cake


Wonderful for chocolate lovers as it is moist and rich.  This recipe serves


  • 2 cups flour Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, enriched, unbleached
  • 3/4 cup white sugar Sugars, granulated
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil Vegetable oil, canola
  • 2 large eggs Egg, whole, raw, fresh
  • 2 tsp vanilla Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda Leavening agents, baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon Spices, cinnamon, ground
  • 1/8 tsp salt Salt, table
  • 1 21oz. can cherry pie filling
  • 1 6oz pkg semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped Nuts, walnuts, english


Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, oil, eggs, vanilla, baking soda,cinnamon and salt and mix well. Stir in the pie filling, chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9 cup bundt pan or 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350F for 1 hour. Cool, Sprinkle top with powdered sugar or glaze with frosting.
