Chili Almonds

Ingredients
- 2 Tbs butter or margarine
- 2 Tbs chili powder
- 2 large cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 cups unblanched almonds
- coarse salt
Method
Step 1
Put butter in a shallow pan in a 250F oven. When melted, stir in the chili powder and garlic. Add almonds and stir until all are coated. Return to oven and bake for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes or so if convenient. While still hot, sprinkle generously with salt (salt salvaged from a pretzel box can be used) and when cool store in airtight jar. May be made weeks ahead of time and frozen.
