Cheese and Sausage Breakfast Casserole


 This recipe serves 8


  • 8 White bread slices, cubed Bread, white, commercially prepared (includes soft bread crumbs)
  • 1 lb bulk pork sausage, crumbled and cooked USDA Commodity, pork sausage, bulk/links/patties, frozen, raw
  • 1 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese Sauce, NESTLE, CHEF-MATE Sharp Cheddar Cheese Sauce, ready-to-serve
  • 10 large eggs Egg, whole, raw, fresh
  • 2 cups whole milk Milk, fluid, 3.25% milkfat
  • 2 tsp dry mustard Spices, mustard dry
  • 1 tsp salt Salt, table
  • pepper Spices, pepper, black


Step 1

Grease 9x13-inch glass baking dish. Place bread in prepared dish. Top with sausage and cheese. Beat together eggs and next three ingredients. Season with pepper. Pour over sausage mixture. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Chill.)

Step 2

Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake casserole until puffed and center is set, about 50 minutes. Cut into squares.
