Best and Easy Pastry


This one is first I was every able to get flaky tender pastry .  This recipe serves


  • 5 cups all purpose flour Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, enriched, unbleached
  • 1 lb lard Lard
  • salt Salt, table
  • 2 Tbs vinegar Vinegar, white
  • 1 large egg Egg, whole, raw, fresh
  • Ice cold water


Step 1

Mix flour, salt and lard together with a pastry cutter or 2 knives until the consistency of cornmeal.Mix egg, vinegar and ice water to make 1 cup.Add to flour and mix until just blended. DO NOT OVER MIX !!!Form a ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill slightly before rolling out
