Baked Hungarian Noodles


This recipe has been written for 24 but can easily be adjusted for 12, 18, etc. Great with Beef Bourguignon. Can be done well in advance of party.  This recipe serves 24


  • 1 lb Fine noodles I( be sure to use the fine noodles)
  • 4 cups cream-style cottage cheese Cheese, cottage, nonfat, uncreamed, dry, large or small curd
  • 4 cups sour cream Cream, sour, reduced fat, cultured
  • 1 cup minced onions Onions, raw
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced Garlic, raw
  • 4 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Sauce, Worcestershire
  • 4 dashes Tabasco Sauce
  • 4 tbsp poppy seeds Spices, poppy seed
  • 2 tsp salt Salt, table
  • Freshly ground black pepper Spices, pepper, black
  • Paprika Spices, paprika
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese Cheese, parmesan, grated


Step 1

Cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender. Drain. Combine the noodles with the remaining ingredients except the paprika and cheese. Approximately 30 mins. before serving, bake in buttered casserole at 350F until hot. Sprinkle with paprika and serve with cheese if desired.
