Almond Danish Swirls

Ingredients

  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened Cheese, cream
  • 1 tsp almond extract Nuts, almond extract
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, chopped finely Nuts, almonds, dry roasted, without salt added
  • 2 8 oz cans refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 large egg white Egg, white, raw, fresh
  • 1 tsp water Water, municipal
  • GLAZE Chicken, wing, frozen, glazed, barbecue flavored
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 4 tsp milk Milk, reduced fat, fluid, 2% milkfat, with added vitamin A
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract Nuts, almond extract

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350F while the rolls are chilling. Remove from refrigerator and cut each roll into 4 slices. Place 1/2" apart on an ungreased baking sheets. In a small bowl combine the egg white with the water. Brush over swirls. Sprinkle with remaining chopped almonds. Bake for 18-20 mins., until lightly brown. While the swirls are baking, combine the glaze ingredients in a small bowl. Cool the swirls for 3 minutes on wire racks placed over a sheet of waxed paper.
