3 Onion Casserole


 This recipe serves


  • 2 Tbs butter Butter, without salt
  • 2 large yellow onions --thinly sliced
  • 2 large red onion ---thinly sliced Onions, red
  • 4 medium leeks, cleaned and thinly sliced Leeks, (bulb and lower leaf-portion), raw
  • salt and pepper Peppers, sweet, red, cooked, boiled, drained, with salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Havarti cheese grated
  • 2 pkg --5 oz Boursin Cheese crumbled
  • 1 1/2 cups Gruyere cheese grated Cheese, gruyere
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine Alcoholic beverage, wine, table, white


Step 1

Mix sliced onions together in a bowl and set aside. Butter casserole with 1 tbsp. butter. Make a layer with 1/3 of the onions on the bottom of the casserole, then top with havarti cheese. Then a second layer of onions, then boursin cheese. Make third layer of onion, topped with the gruyere cheese. Dot with butter and pour the wine over top of it all. Bake 1 hour at 350F covering with foil to stop from browning too much
