Super Bowl Sunday Spread
In my brain, Super Bowl Sunday is a holiday. You spend it with friends and family, eat some good food and watch sports… its a holiday. And because I have now deemed it a holiday, it should be treated as such. My menu for this year’s spread was created with lots of thought and care. I am glad to report that all attendees enjoyed themselves and most likely didn’t eat breakfast the next morning due to the heaps of food we all ingested.
This would have been really helpful if I had posted this before the Super Bowl, for that I apologize. But, now you know that all of these things are approved by the general public for your sporting event watching consumption. So save this post in your mental rolodex for the next time you invite friends over to watch a big game. Olympics? March Madness? World Cup? Possibilities are endless.
- Spicy Queso Dip from The Chew – This dip was amazingly cheesy and flavorful. The biggest tip when making this is to chop the onion, red pepper and jalapeños very fine.
- Creamy Baked Chicken Taquitos from Pink Parsley – I swear by these taquitos. They are the biggest hit at any party I have brought them to. The only difference is that I found that flour tortillas hold better than the corn ones as suggested.
- Smoked Gouda-Chorizo Jalapeño Poppers from Food Network – These were so delicious. The filling for them was especially wonderful. I had a lot leftover because my jalapeños were small, so I used it to make a quesadilla the next day and you should too if you know whats good for you.
- Halftime Chili from Bon Appetit – Impressed. So impressed with this chili. I used a New Belgium Fat Tire as my brew of choice for the ingredients. I would like to think that made a difference in how delicious it was, but I bet any full flavored beer would do the same.
