- 12 slices sandwich bread
- soft butter
- seasoning salt or garlic powder
Trim crusts from bread then flatten each slice with a rolling pin until thoroughly squashed. Spread each with a little soft butter, then flavour lightly with a touch of garlic powder or seasoning salt. Cut each slice into four evenly sized squares then place each one butter side down firmly, then toast at 350F for about 15 minutes or until crisp and golden brown. Cool on wire rack and leave to crisp up for several hours at room temperature.
