Smorgasbord Meatballs

My Dad found this recipe and it has been a favourite where ever I have served these.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 Tbs onions, diced
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 lb sausage meat
- 1 cup soft bread crumbs
- 2 tsp seasoned salt
- 1 lb minced beef
- SAUCE
- 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped
- 2 Tbs oil
- 2 tsp white sugar
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup water
Method
Step 1
Add milk to bread crumbs, stir in onions, 1 1/2 tsp salt and pepper. Break up meats and add mix mixture and combine thoroughly. Form into tiny balls 3/4 inch and arrange on shallow dish for roasting. Bake in 400F oven about 25 minutes turning once.
Step 2
FOR SAUCE: Saute celery and pepper in oil til tender. Stir in remaining salt , sugar, sauce and water. Cover and simmer stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes. Place meatballs in bowl just large enough to hold them, then pour sauce over them. Chill til close to serving.
Step 3
Reheat in double boiler or microwave on low or in a chafing dish
