Hurry-Up Ham Puffs

Easy but impressive in a mixed platter

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf sandwich bread, sliced lengthwise and crusts removed
  • 1 jar deviled ham or minced ham
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 15 stuffed green olives, halved
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbs nippy mustard

Method

Step 1

Spread toasted lengthwise slices of sandwich bread with mixture of deviled ham and onions. Be generous and bring it right to the edges.

Step 2

Top with halves of stuffed green olives, poke dot side up. Line them up in rows for easy cutting (You'll like pitted ripe olives, or sliced gerkins).

Step 3

Cloud cover each olive with mixture of beaten egg white, mayonnaise and nippy mustard.

Step 4

Bake slices in hot oven till puffs are golden. Depending on the size of the party you may want to make a few slices at a time to ensure they are served hot.

Step 5

With a sharp knife, cut each slice into squares to serve
