Harvest Vegetable Stir-fry


 This recipe serves


  • 1 125g pkg cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 30 mL toasted sesame seeds (2 tbsps) Seeds, sesame seeds, whole, dried
  • 50 mL margarine (¼c) Margarine, regular, hard, corn (hydrogenated and regular)
  • 50 mL chopped onion (¼ c) Onions, raw
  • 250 mL diagonally sliced celery (1c) Celery, raw
  • 500 mL sliced cauliflowerets (2C)
  • 500 mL broccoli flowerets (2C)
  • 50 mL water or chicken broth (¼) Soup, chicken broth, canned, prepared with equal volume water, commercial
  • 250 mL halved cherry tomatoes (1c) Tomatoes, red, cherry, raw
  • 5 mL seasoned salt (1tsp) Salt, table


Step 1

Coat cream cheese with sesame seeds; set aside. Stir fry onions in margarine in a wok or electric frypan at a medium heat until soft. Add celery, cauliflower and broccoli; stir -fry 1 minute. Add water; cover and steam 2-3 minutes until tender crisp. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste; stir fry 1 minute longer. Lightly toss sesame seed cheese cubes with vegetables just before serving
