Ham and Corn Chowder

Ingredients
- 2 Tbs butter Butter, without salt
- 2 cups onion,fresh or frozen, chopped Onions, raw
- 1 cup green pepper, fresh or frozen, chopped Peppers, sweet, green, raw
- 1 lb fully cooked ham, chunked Turkey ham, cured turkey thigh meat
- 1 large baking potato Potatoes, raw, flesh and skin
- 3 1/2 cups water Water, municipal
- 3 cups corn kernels, frozen or canned Corn, sweet, yellow, frozen, kernels, cut off cob, boiled, drained, with salt
- 2 tsp instant chicken broth granules Soup, chicken broth, canned, prepared with equal volume water, commercial
- 13 round buttery crackers
- 1 cup milk Milk, reduced fat, fluid, 2% milkfat, with added vitamin A
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce Sauce, Worcestershire
Method
Step 1
Melt butter 4 qt pot. Stir in onions and pepper. Cook ,stirring occasionally over high heat for five mins until crisp tender
Step 2
Meanwhile cut ham into small chunks (3 Cups) and peel and dice potato. Add to pot with water,corn and boullion granules.
Step 3
Bring to boil, reduce heat,cover and simmer 14 mins or til potatoes are tender.
Step 4
While soup cooks, crush crackers into fine crumbs (1/2 c)
Step 5
Add milk and crackers to soup, stir until soup returns to asimmer
