A thinner chili to be served in bowl This recipe serves 8
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef, broken into large chunks Beef, ground, lean, (approximately 21% fat), raw
- 5 large onions, peeled,sliced & quartered Onions, raw
- 2 cups celery, sliced medium thick Celery, raw
- 1 cup water Water, municipal
- 2 tsp salt Salt, table
- 1 tsp garlic powder or 3 cloves minced Spices, garlic powder
- 5 tsp chili powder Spices, chili powder
- 3 bay leaves Spices, bay leaf, crumbled
- 4 tsp worcestershire sauce Sauce, Worcestershire
- 1 tsp pepper Spices, pepper, black
- 1 1/4 tsp oregano Spices, oregano, ground
- 1/4 tsp allspice Spices, allspice, ground
- 3 tsp cumin, Maybe more if you like
- 5 packages dry beef boullion, OXO type
- 4 tsp vinegar Vinegar, white
- 2 28oz canned tomatoes, roughly chopped Tomatoes, red, ripe, raw, year round average
- 3 16 oz cans kidney beans, drained if you want
Method
Step 1
Brown meat well. Add onions, celery & water.
Step 2
Add spices etc. and simmer 20 mins
Step 3
Add boullion packages/cubes, tomatoes and beans. Simmer 1- 1 1/2 hours
Step 4
For thicker chili simmer longer
