Crispy Seed Fingers

An interesting change from the normal croutons.
Ingredients
- Sesame Seed Fingers
- 6 large slices brown or white bread ( toast thick)
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sesame seeds ( white is best)
- sea salt
- Poppy Seed Fingers
- 6 large slices brown or white bread ( toast thick)
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/2 cup poppy seeds or Black Sesame seeds
- 2 level tbsp mixed chopped herbs-parsley, chives,basil
- 1 tsp dried herbs de provence
- 10 grinds black pepper
- pinch paprika pepper
- sea salt
Method
Step 1
Remove the crusts from the bread, and cut each piece into four to six fingers. Put the melted butter, seeds and other ingredients ( except the salt) in two different shallow containers. Quickly dip the bread fingers in and out of the butter and the seeds, coating both sides. Arrange on a rack or cooling tray, sprinkle lightly with sea salt and bake in a slow oven, 300F until crisp-- about 15 mins
