Argentine Beef Pie Casserole


Interesting version of Shepherd pie  This recipe serves 4


  • 4 medium potatoes, cooked and mashed
  • 3/4 tsp salt Salt, table
  • 1/3 cup light cream Cream, fluid, light (coffee cream or table cream)
  • 2 large egg yolks, slightly beaten Egg, yolk, raw, fresh
  • 2 Tbs butter Butter, without salt
  • 1 med-large onion, minced
  • 1 canned pimento, chopped Pimento, canned
  • 1 small tomato, chopped Tomatoes, red, ripe, raw, year round average
  • 3/4 lb ground beef, lean Beef, ground, lean, (approximately 21% fat), raw
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins Raisins, seedless
  • 1/2 cup sliced stuffed olives
  • salt and pepper Peppers, sweet, red, cooked, boiled, drained, with salt


Step 1

Combine well the first four ingredients. In 8x8 greased baking pan, spread bottom with 1/2 potato mixture. Brown onion, beef and pimento in butter and stir in remaining ingredients. Spread on top of the potato mixture and then top with the remaining potato mixture . Sprinkle with paprika and bake at 350 for 45 mins
